A regular meeting of the Latin American psychological seminar. ‘Virtual reality and cyberpsychology’
On September 9, 2021, a meeting was held on problems of cyberpsychology and virtual reality. The event was organized by the Specialized University of America UDELAS in Panama, the University of San Carlos in Guatemala, the Faculty of Psychology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education, as well as the Russian Psychological Society and the Panamanian Association of Psychologists.
The event was opened by Francisco Javier Cedeño, Director of Strategic Communications at UDELAS, and Ricardo González Escartín, Dean of the Faculty of Social Education and Human Development at UDELAS.
Presentations were made by Associate Professor of the University of San Carlos in Guatemala Patricia Castro about cyberpsychology in educational process, and Lesbia Isabel González, lecturer at the UDELAS Specialized University of America, gave speech on general issues of cyperpsychology, and representing Russia, Artiom Kovaliov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Psychology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, spoke about the psychology of virtual reality in a historical context and talked about the results of recent research.
The seminar organization was held with Deputy Director of the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education, Head of the Chair Educational Psychology and Pedagogy, faculty of Psychology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Vice-President of the Russian Psychological Society Alexander Veraksa, junior researcher at the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education Apollinaria Chursina, Director for Internationalization and Technical Cooperation of UDELAS Luis Enrique Torres, Coordinator of the Department of Academic Events at UDELAS Elizabeth Pérez, Director of the Department of Psychology at UDELAS Aelén López.
The seminar was attended by over a thousand colleagues - psychologists from Argentina, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, Cuba, Panama, Venezuela, Angola and other countries.
