Greetings from National Academy of Psychology (India)
It is my honor to extend greetings to Russian psychologists, both academics and practitioners, on the 140th anniversary of the Russian Psychological Society (RPS). The RPS is known for organizing events that address timely and impactful themes, sending an important message to the global community: innovative, evidence-based, and comprehensive psychological support -are essential for responding to the complex realities of modern life. At the core of this message lies the commitment to protecting human dignity and promoting mental well-being.
India, which shares a longstanding civilizational bond of friendship and intellectual partnership with Russia, is particularly enthusiastic about the diverse initiatives of the RPS. Our nations face similar social and psychological challenges, ranging from mental health issues and community resilience to the reintegration of marginalized groups and the rising prevalence of stress-related disorders among young people. These shared concerns provide a strong foundation for collaboration on context-specific approaches that can make meaningful contributions to the global community.
I am confident that Psychology Week, held around the National Psychology Day celebrated on 22 November, will be a great success, not only in deepening understanding, but also in strengthening international bridges that serve humanity.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the RPS and our esteemed Russian colleagues, and I appreciate their unwavering global commitment to psychological well-being. I look forward to fruitful discussions, innovative ideas, and strong partnerships. Let us continue to shape a future in which psychological science becomes a force for healing, resilience, and global peace.
Sanjay Kumar, Secretary-General NAOP (India)
